Dear Readers,
The time has come for me to say goodbye to both you and this blog, at least for now. As many of you know this has been a completely volunteer effort with the goal being to encourage librarians from everywhere to travel and work beyond their borders. I spent fourteen years of my life doing just that and it enriched and expanded me both personally and professionally. While I still completely believe in this mission, it is time for me to focus on other goals in my life, although I am not yet clear exactly what will be next…
This blog will continue to be hosted and available as searching the archives can be useful when researching potential positions. I will also continue to update my book: How to Become a Traveling Librarian as well as the Book Resources page.
I wish everyone, as always, safe travels.
Kind regards, Sarah P.

Thank you for maintaining this blog, Sarah. It was such a source of inspiration. I actually applied for several jobs posted on here and even interviewed for one in Palau! Nothing came about it, but it was an experience in and of itself. I also had purchased your e-book which is so helpful. You’ve really inspired this wanderlust librarian and showed how this field can be exciting and universal. Best wishes on your next adventure and thanks again!

I have to say, I was sorry to see this announcement, but not really surprised. What a massive amount of time and effort this must have taken! I am setting up a web site on teaching in the international schools and admire your organization of this site, as well as it currency. Very accessible (you’re a librarian, after all).
All the best on the next chapter of your life and thank you for this blog. It appears at least a few librarians have had their lives changed thanks to your encouragement!

Thank you so much for the years you spent curating this blog, as someone who wanted to be an international librarian but couldn’t it meant to much.
Best, Kath
