International Seabed Authority is seeking the consultancy services of a
systems librarian/project manager to evaluate the library services and
systems, identify technology requirements and make recommendations for the
procurement and implementation of two solutions: i) information management
software to manage the library resources and ii) appropriate related
technologies and systems, to meet the needs of the library in automating and
upgrading its operations.
The consultancy will be done in phases. The first phase will be to evaluate
and made recommendations for an Integrated Library Management System and
related technologies to improve services, where applicable. The present
consultancy is for the first phase only.
The other phases will entail selection of appropriate systems, installation
and launch. For continuity, we ideally would like to have the same consultant
on-board for these phases, and separate arrangements will be made.

Preference may be given to applicants from the Americas for access purposes,
but is not restricted.
Background on the International Seabed Authority
The International Seabed Authority is an autonomous international
organization established under the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law
of the Sea and the 1994 Agreement relating to the Implementation of Part XI
of the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea. The Authority is the
organization through which States Parties to the Convention shall, in
accordance with the regime for the seabed and ocean floor and subsoil thereof
beyond the limits of national jurisdiction (the Area) established in Part XI
and the Agreement organize and control activities in the Area, particularly
with a view to administering the resources of the Area. The office was
established on 16 November 1994 with the entry into force of the 1982 Law of
