Sarah P’s comments: For anyone interested in working for an international school it is important to understand that there are both non-profit and for-profit schools. In the past twenty years there has been an explosion of for-profit schools and this has greatly impacted both the market as well as contracts. As a librarian with a for-profit school you are much more often expected to rationalize your expenditures and fight for a budget. My experience, in both kinds of schools, is that the time administrators most value librarians is before and during the accreditation process (sad but true).
