Sarah P’s comments: Oman is a unique and beautiful country, certainly the best the Middle East has to offer and TAISM enjoys a fairly good reputation. However what is with saying you must be school certified but a master’s degree is optional! That I have rarely seen. Perhaps they are trying to encourage Omanis to apply (which is good) as their University offers only a bachelor’s degree. Traditionally this has been an issue for Omani librarians who must then obtain a master’s degree outside of their country if they wish to work professionally elsewhere in the world. Either way it does open things up for a variety of people. If you do not have school certification it is fairly easy to obtain by studying classes online. Please read Chapter 3 of my book for an in-depth explanation of this market if you are interested (and see the Book Resources section of the blog as well). Also, I highly recommend joining both The International Educator (TIE) as well as International School Reviews (ISR) as they will help you to know what positions are available and, more importantly, which ones are the most reputable.
