News: Library Collaboration: International Perspectives article

10/15/14 – Published yesterday in the online journal Collaborative Librarianship, an interview (by Dr. Janet Lee) with Dr. Shimelis Assefa. Dr. Assefa, originally from Ethiopia and now a professor at the University of Denver. The article ‘discusses aspects of library collaboration from an international perspective that cover both challenges and opportunities. Insights on collaboration in library science education are also offered’.

The interview, titled “Library Collaboration: International Perspectives” may be found directly at http://collaborativelibrarianship.org/index.php/jocl/article/view/311/236

Sarah P’s comments:  This is a pertinent article for international seeking librarians in that it shares Dr. Assefa’s professional journey from Ethiopia to to the US.  It also offered some sense of the challenges of information collaboration between countries.  To be honest, I would like to have seem more exploration and depth on that topic (but perhaps space did not permit).  A good idea for anyone interested in writing articles…
